Patricia PaintonPatricia Painton ā˜…ā˜…ā˜…ā˜…ā˜… Words cannot begin to express the level of gratitude and appreciation I have for the expertise, advise and fellowship, and quite frankly, a whole lot of moral support, Trish and Kelly of Bee Organized dedicated to my mother and me during my entire week with them as we moved my mother from her senior independent two-bedroom apartment in Walnut Creek, CA to her one-bedroom assisted living apartment in Danville, CA. At its onset, this task to me was monumental as it included several phases, the first of which, was to decide what to keep, what to put in storage and then what to finally place in her new home and how to organize the new place.What I haven't told you is that my mother is battling Alzheimer's and her cognitive capabilities have significantly deteriorated since she moved into the Walnut Creek apartment six years ago; hence, the need to move her into assisted living. Without going into all of the logistical phases and planning that had to progress with military precision, suffice it to say, Trish was instrumental in immediately quelling a bit of anxiety I had built up prior to the start of the move by assuring me we were going to get this done and mom will love it. And then, from the second she showed up on Monday morning, knowing full well we had to somehow maneuver around my mother's sporadic presence, and most certainly, her confusion and mounting anxiety in her own mind that must have been building, Trish was truly amazing. She had a vision, a means and a desired outcome, which took into consideration several moving parts, that genuinely came to fruition by the end of the six-day process. The entire time, I felt like she had internalized my need and desire to make my mother happy herself, as if my mother was her own mother; this was the spirit that dominated the entire process. Her dedication was so genuine, to the extent, she stayed with me late Friday night (beyond what had been planned) to help me get the place ready for my mother's move the next day. And then, to top it all, she and Kelly came in on Saturday, also not part of the plan, to help make the finishing touches. During the week, she was accompanied by Kelly, who also had embraced the effort and who added a very calming and caring touch. In the end, the apartment was perfectly organized to accommodate my mother's cognitive challenges while the decorating maintained the level of class and beauty that my mother has always embodied.Having said all that, I don't think I tend to be the "touchy-feely" type, as in my life time, having been the daughter of US Army Officer, and then having been one myself for eleven years, I have moved at least 35 times, so the logistics and planning are typically pretty manageable. But in this case, the move was more of an emotional journey complicated ancillarily by a lot of logistics and one I had never encountered before in any of those 35 moves. Trish and Kelly actually made it fun; my mother loved both of those Bees and because of their expertise and experience, the move was total mission success!! I could not have done it without them, and I will always be eternally grateful!! Not only was the job completed and done well, I now have two new friends!!
