I did not intend for that to happen but I had to ship a great deal of my belongings from the East Coast, and I had nowhere else for it to go. My plan, after buying a condo, was to clear out the apartment. But I soon found out that there was no way that I could do it myself. In fact the situation was so bad that I needed the help of a professional organizer. I discovered Bee Organized Seattle and the rest has been smooth sailing. Sarah and Alex arrived ready to do battle with the horrendous clutter. Sarah devised a master plan for moving items to the zones of "Goodwill" and "Keep." I learned from them that Goodwill will take a great deal more than I assumed, including two old printers, and other defunct electronics. Then Sarah and Alex set to work and, from the process, a nice apartment began to emerge. I tried to do my part but I could not keep up with them, nor did I have their intense focus. I can honestly say that I have never seen anyone work harder than these two. The challenge was great but they were equal to it. They were also brilliant about using psychology to make me understand what I really needed and what I could part with. I did not realize how much lighter I felt once I had decided to let go of my accumulated stuff. I consider Sarah and Alex miracle workers. I should not forget the person most responsible for Bee Organized Seattle, Suzanne Albee, the owner. She did the initial assessment free of charge and chose Sarah and Alex for me. Bee Organized is a business but it is also a mission--a mission to relieve us of the clutter that litters our lives. I used Bee Organized (Suzanne Allbee) for two recent moves. Suzanne and her worker bees helped me move my wife into a memory care facility. Suzanne visited the facility and took measurements of the room that my wife would move into. She then came to the house, and we discussed which furniture would fit into my wife's room. She coordinated with the facility and with the movers. On move day she and her worker bees showed up an hour before the movers to pack up. When I and my wife showed up at the facility my wife's room was completely set up. Bed made, artwork on the walls, clothes in the closet, everything perfect. Suzanne and her worker bees were there to greet us. Months later I used Bee Organized to move from my house of 42 years into a retirement community. She used the same process of visiting my new apartment first and then determined which of my possessions would fit into the new apartment. When I arrived at my new place everything was set up. Furniture in place, kitchen set up, clothes in the closet. The job in question was to set up functional closet and storage space across our house.We are new homeowners who have accumulated a lot of stuff from multiple moves, hobbies, family members downsizing (childhood trinkets and artwork anyone?), a wedding, an addiction to the container store (think lots of boxes that donā€™t have a place or a designated purpose), and dogs. When coupled with time-consuming careers and a quirky 1920s house,things were a hot mess until Bee Organized came in.Suzanne, the owner, responded promptly to my inquiry and came out within a few days to do a consultation and a walk-through. I was feeling pretty self-conscious about the state of things with my house but Suzanne put me quickly at ease. She was warm, friendly, non-judge mental and a consummate professional.Suzanne explained the process, shared her recommendations around services. Rates were very reasonable. I particularly appreciated how she noted how they try to incorporate existing storage and organizing items before turning to purchasing new items, which can add to the overall cost.Suzanne gave me some voluntary homework before my scheduled organization day. So prior to my organizing appointments, I spent some time going through my closets and set aside items to be recycled, donated, etc. I strongly encourage people to do this prior to a visit.By doing so, I was able to maximize the time I had with Liz and Alexandra (my organizing *bees*) in setting up functional and organized closets.Alexandra and Liz were also able to walk me through what items could be donated vs. recycled, which was previously overwhelming to me. Like, how do you recycle textiles? What can be recycled or donated or just thrown away? One visit to a donation/recycling center was included. Liz was able to load up her car and take a load to Goodwillā€”this was a BIG help to me. This was the first dayā€”getting things organized and cleared out. The second day was building organizational systems and putting the items away.I so appreciate the precision, creativity and thought that went into making our closets functional. Liz and Alexandra ended up installing additional shelves and getting selecting containers by closet and shelf dimension.
